The Contraception Atlas is an original research project carried out by the Forum European Parliamentarian on Population and Development (EPF) in collaboration with a group of renowned experts in the field of contraception, which examined the performance of European public authorities in three categories: access to means of contraception, family planning advice, and online information about contraception. The results of the study are summarized in a map evaluating 46 European countries. All countries were analyzed using 15 criteria.

Access to modern contraception relies on multiple factors such as affordability, availability, and information. In 2025, Western and Northern Europe had mostly good access to contraception, whereas the access was more limited in Eastern countries. With scores exceeding 93Â percent, * and had the highest scores of access to contraception during that year. *, on the other hand, had the lowest score in Europe for access to contraception.
