At the end of the second quarter of 2024, Europe accounted for the highest total number of regulated open-end funds worldwide. Europe had the highest number of mutual funds that quarter, 57,185 in total. This was followed by the Asia Pacific region, with a total of 38,285 mutual funds at the end of the second quarter of 2024. The Americas had the largest volume of exchange traded funds (ETFs) and money market funds, with a total of 4,551 and 1,044 funds, respectively.
