Qingyang UHV Transmission power station is the largest coal power plant in construction or proposal stage in China as of 2021, with a planned capacity of six gigawatts. This power plant is located in the Gansu province and is also the largest coal-fired power plant in the world. The following two power plant projects, Lingtai and Huaneng Zhengning, have a capacity of four gigawatts, each.
