According to a survey conducted by in May 2021 in South Korea on Video-on-Demand (VoD) or streaming service subscriptions, roughly **** percent of respondents over ** who did not have an active subscription still accessed the service through other means aside from using the account of someone they knew. Among the younger generations of 16 to 34 years old it was also common to use the account of either a friend, neighbor, colleague or other acquaintances to use streaming services, with over nine percent of respondents in those age groups answering like that.
