Citation formats

As of November 2024, Ukraine had more land burned by wildfires than any other country in Europe in that year. The East European country lost more than 906,000 hectares to forest and wildland fires. This was dramatically above the average of 42,000 hectares between 2006 and 2023.

With the ever increasing threat of climate change, the number of natural disasters has gone up in the past few years. Wildfires have become more common in places that never experienced them previously.
