According to a survey conducted among over 15,000 respondents in the U.S., approximately 76 percent of homebuyers who were looking to buy a home in the next 12 months were able to afford less than ** percent of the homes for sale as of the second quarter of 2023. This result shows that housing affordability decreased from the same period in 2022, when ** percent of prospective home buyers could afford less than half of homes for sale. From all generations, baby boomers struggled the most with affordabilityÂ
