*A star rating system depicts the energy efficiency of an electrical appliance. The higher the number of stars, the more efficient it is. The star rating system was devised by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) India, with a range of one to five stars.

According to a survey conducted on consumer perceptions and purchases in India during 2018, around half of the respondents stated that price of air conditioners played a vital role in their purchase decision in advance. Whereas, only about ** percent of the household respondents stated that the aesthetics and design of the air conditioners were important before the purchase in that time period.
