Fuel oil, kerosene, and other oil-based fuels are the most popular residential heating fuel types in New Hampshire. In 2022, around 40 percent of occupied housing units in the state were heated using fuel oil. Utility gas was the second most used house heating fuel type, at 21.8 percent.
