In a survey conducted in May 2020, about one quarter of the respondents in Japan reported a decrease in their use of financial services, such as withdrawals, deposits, and bank transfers, at banks following the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. At the same time, ** percent reported increased use of financial services via online banking and mobile applications.
