The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic disrupted global travel in 2020 with governments putting in place stay-at-home measures to limit the spread of the virus. While at home during the health crisis, some people participated in virtual travel, experiencing travel destinations or activities online, via computer, tablet, or their phones. In the United States, according to a December 2020 study, ** percent of respondents experienced virtual travel during the pandemic.
