Data were weighted to approximate a target sample of adults based on age, race/ethnicity, gender, educational attainment, and region. Results from the full survey have a margin of error of plus or minus 1 percentage points.
The original survey question was formulated as: "Do you expect to own a home in the future?"
This survey question had 1,863 respondents, of which 1,279 white, 397 Hispanic, 397 black and 218 of another ethnicity.

In a September 2020 survey among adults in the United States, around ** percent of Hispanic respondents said that they were currently saving up to buy a house, while just ** percent of white respondents said that they were doing so. Similarly, just ** percent of Hispanics said that they never plan or expect to own a home, while ** percent of White respondents said so.
