That month, energy sources including coal, CCGT, Biomass and other fossil fuels emitted 415 grams of carbon dioxide per kilowatt-hour. Since then, Great Britain's carbon intensity has been falling, and in May 2020 dropped to a low of 108 grams of carbon dioxide per kilowatt-hour. Great Britain's power sector carbon intensity is forecast to continue falling in the coming decades.
