During 2020, in Italy, thousands of women were forced to go to hospital emergency rooms because of episodes of violence, for a total of single occurrences. In about **** percent of these instances, the main problem observed by doctors was some kind of trauma. Another **** percent of the victims were diagnosed with issues caused by physical violence.
This statistic refers exclusively to episodes of male violence against women. Data were published by the source on the occasion of the 2021 International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
