The beginning of re-confinement at the end of 2020 was marked by controversies in France, over the closure of some businesses, which were deemed as non-essential by the French government. But all these stores are not equally lacking to all people. At the heart of the controversy, the closure of bookstores, for example, caused a serious inconvenience for at least two out of five French people regardless of age group. It appears, however, that the proportion of the population feeling the greatest inconvenience from the closing of bookstores was the 18-24 year old generation (54 percent).
