Carbon emissions produced by the Australian power sector in NEM regions are projected to total 124.3 million metric tons of CO2 in 2030. Much of Australia's power is generated from coal, but a move away from this polluting energy source is expected to see power sector emissions drop to 26.5 million metric tons of CO2 in 2050.
