In 2023, the office real estate take-up in Europe declined, showing a weakening demand among occupiers. Office transactions in that year totaled approximately *** million square meters. That was an improvement from 2020, when take-up plummeted to **** million square meters, but a decline from the **** million square meters recorded in 2022. This fluctuation in occupier demand has led to downward pressures on asset prices. In April 2024, offices registered the highest drop in property values in the commercial real estate sector, according to Green Street's pan-European commercial property price index.
