The question was asked among 2,529 female and 1,717 male online shoppers who had purchased food items more frequently during the pandemic.
The survey was conducted among
345 respondents aged 16 to 24 years,
1,364 respondents aged 25 to 34 years,
1,604 respondents aged 35 to 44 years,
685 respondents aged 45 to 54 years and
248 respondents aged 55 years and older.

Online purchases surged during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in Taiwan. According to a survey on online shopping behavior in Taiwan conducted by in May 2020, dry food items were purchased most frequently online among the respondents who had purchased food products more frequently online - about ** percent. Apart from food and groceries, the online demand for personal hygiene products such as toilet paper and masks also increased.
