A survey from April 2020 revealed that during the coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown about three out of ten Italian adults subscribed to paid digital services, with slightly higher penetration rates among male respondents. 20 percent of male adults subscribed to video on demand platforms, while just 14 percent of female respondents did the same.
