According to the Economic Times survey conducted across Indian metro cities in 2019, over 60 percent of respondents stated better infrastructure and connectivity as the leading reason to stay in a metro city. The proximity to better medical facilities and the increased availability of higher paying jobs made metro cities an ideal choice for majority of the surveyed respondents.
Since 2014, there are eight metros in India - Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Pune.
