Junk news and professional news in 2019: Facebook interactions in Europe, by language
Fake news has become an increasingly important issue in recent years, especially around the time of elections. In the month leading up to the European Parliament elections in ***, the average number of Facebook interactions (likes, comments, shares) was measured for the top five junk and professional news sources in different languages. In **** of the languages, interactions for professional news stories were completely outweighed by the number of interactions for junk news stories.
