In 2019, ** percent of respondents in Italy declared to have publicly defended someone who was victim of discrimination. Additionally, percent of interviewees stated to have joined an association or a campaign that defended people against discrimination. Similarly, a further percent of respondents had publicly raised the issue of discrimination at workplace.
In a survey of 2019 about the most common types of discrimination in Italy, a large group of respondents believed that being Roma was the most common reason for discrimination in the country.
