In 2022, a survey conducted by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights found that 36 percent of people of African descent in selected EU countries had experienced discrimination.

Structural discrimination in labor markets and income inequality was evident across all countries, with people of African descent being  three times more likely than the general population to struggle to make ends meet.
