The source adds the following information: "This collection covers national tourism. Data is collected by the competent national authorities of the Member States and is compiled according to a harmonised methodology established by EU regulations before transmission to Eurostat.
Most of the time, data on domestic and outbound trips (where "outbound tourism" means residents of a country travelling in another country) is collected via sample surveys. However, in a few cases the data are compiled from border surveys. Surveys are generally conducted on a monthly or quarterly basis."

Citation formats

Younger generations had a higher participation in tourism than older demographics, according to data on travelers in Czechia in 2019. Over 20 percent of 25 to 34 year olds participated in outbound travel, and an additional 26.1 percent in both outbound and domestic travel, all for four nights or more.
