Data for years prior to 2012 were obtained from another by the source.
The source defined running costs as all expenses for environmental protection and rational use of natural resources that were funded by owned or borrowed finances of an enterprise, or by the state budget.
They include expenses on maintenance and use of main environmental protection funds, events for preservation and restoration of environmental quality that was disturbed by production activity, events to reduce the harmful influence of production activity on environment, to treat waste from production and consumption, on the organization of supervision over emissions and waste of production and consumption into the environment and over quality condition of environmental components, on scientific research, and work on environmental education of employees.
They do not include means paid to other enterprises (organizations) for wastewater collection and treatment, waste storage and utilization as well as depreciation charge transferred to main environmental protection funds.
