Samsung, AT&T, and LG lead the smart home brand awareness and usage rankings, while Ring has the most loyal customers. Google Nest also scores impressively in our brand KPIs.

You might not, but your home is getting smarter. It can turn on the lights, keep the floors clean, and perform pretty much any task in your household. This is thanks to the rapid rise of smart home devices such as smart thermostats and robot vacuum cleaners. Smart home revenues in the U.S. are expected to reach around 50 billion U.S. dollars by 2026, with Samsung, LG, and AT&T playing a prominent role in our brand KPI rankings among U.S. consumers.

Samsung, AT&T, and LG lead the smart home brand awareness ranking

Samsung, AT&T, and LG are the three most well-known smart home brands in the United States. Each of them is recognized by almost 90 percent of consumers in the U.S., way more than any other brand in the smart home market. The following position is taken by Ring, followed by Google Nest, famous for their smart home security products. Brands such as Danalock, ECOVACS and Nuki, on the other hand, were recognized by no more than 20 percent of respondents, and find themselves at the bottom of the ranking.

Ring and Google Nest are prime in usage share

While Samsung leads in brand awareness, Ring and Google Nest have a higher usage share among consumers who know the respective brand. ECOVACS is a bit of a hidden champion here, considering their brand awareness below 20 percent. Bosch on the other hand, with a solid brand awareness, are lacking behind in our brand usage KPI.

It’s getting crowded at the top

Ring, AT&T, and Samsung have the most loyal customers among smart home brands in the United States. All three of them can count on their users in the long run, as around 9 out of every 10 of their existing customers plan to use their products again in the future. Other smart home brands scoring highly on the list include Shark, Google Nest, and LG. Meanwhile, brands like ECOVACS, Hive, and Nuki find themselves on the lower end of the customer loyalty scale.
