T-Mobile, a name synonymous with shaking things up in the wireless industry, has carved a unique path for itself in the United States. Owned by the German telecommunications behemoth Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile US is the world's largest telecommunications company by market capitalization, which stood at over 190 billion U.S. dollars as of 2024. The company has had an impressive journey that saw its revenues more than double over the last decade, while their rivals AT&T a²Ô»å Verizon saw consistent but minimal growth rates.
In May 2024, T-Mobile announced that it had reached an agreement to acquire a substantial portion of U.S. Cellular's wireless operations for 4.4 billion U.S. dollars. This comes on the heels of T-Mobile's major merger with Sprint in 2020 and the acquisition of Mint Mobile which was completed in May 2024. T-Mobile forecasts this series of mergers and acquisitions will inevitably further expand the company’s customer base and allow it to expand its 5G network to rural areas, increasing its market share.

T-Mobile has strong annual revenues that reached almost 79 billion U.S. dollars in 2023, solidifying its position as the third-largest wireless carrier in the country. Despite T-Mobile’s impressive revenue growth, its net profit position has been declining in recent times amid a series of mergers and acquisitions, before more than tripling to over 8.3 billion U.S. dollars in 2023, up from 2.6 billion U.S. dollars in 2022. T-Mobile’s mobile network is the fastest in the United States

A recent survey reported T-Mobile to have had  the best 5G coverage in 2024 at almost 54 percent in the U.S., as well as the fastest typical 5G download speeds. A healthy subscriber growth has been aided by a decreasing churn rate recently. The churn rate for postpaid customers, who make up most of T-Mobile’s business, stood at 0.9 percent in the first quarter of 2024. Meanwhile, the firm stabilized its monthly average revenue per user (ARPU) for postpaid accounts at around 48 U.S. dollars.Overall, T-Mobile’s performance exhibits signs of continued growth in revenue and customer base.
