At the 2024 Golden Globes ceremony, host Jo Koy declared 鈥淗ollywood is back.鈥 But is it? Despite the release of several billion-dollar movies, such as 鈥淚nside Out 2鈥 or 鈥淒eadpool & Wolverine鈥, 2024 recorded a slight drop in box office revenue in comparison to the previous year. TV viewership of a few awards shows only grew slightly after years of declining audiences. At the same time, representation and inclusion have become much-discussed issues in the world of cinema and TV awards, as the lists of voters, nominees, and winners do not fully reflect the diversity of moviegoers and film makers.
