While fast food dominates the U.S. restaurant landscape, the FSR industry is nonetheless extremely competitive. In 2024, there were over 34,000 FSR franchise establishments in the United States. Comparatively, there were over 150,000 independent FSR locations in the U.S. that year, showing that they comprise the majority of this market.
