Next’s sales and revenue
In Next’s financial year 2025, which ended January 25, 2025, the company made revenues totaling over six billion British pounds. This represented record revenues for the retailer, improving on the previous year’s revenue by roughly 500 million pounds. Outside of the UK, where the vast majority of revenue is generated, Next made approximately 660 million pounds in revenue in the rest of Europe, making it the second largest market. This was followed by the Middle East and then Asia. For the past six years online sales have been higher than retail sales, reaching more than 3.2 billion pounds in 2025.Competitors
Next was ranked as best-known fashion store brand in the United Kingdom in 2024, with 94 percent of consumers saying they recognized the brand, with Primark coming in as a close second, and M&S in third place. Primark operates at the value end of the market and made a revenue of 9.4 billion pounds in the company’s 2024 financial year. Marks and Spencer advertises itself as a more upmarket retailer. As well as fashion and homewares, M&S also has a large food division.Next plc has solidified its position as a leading British high street retailer, boasting a strong presence on the British Isles, as well as across continental Europe. Focused on growth, the company has plans to expand market reach by launching a website that features premium fashion brands like Ganni, Joseph and Rixo. With this new project in motion, Next is prepared to reinforce its appeal to consumers of various tax brackets.
