Energy-demanding heavy industries

Total energy consumption in South Korea has increased over the years, and the industrial sector has made up much of this figure. As the country has continued to develop technologically, demand has increased with little expectation of slowing down. Some of South Korea's leading industries, such as electronic components and motorized vehicles, have trillions of South Korean won in production value each year. 

Alternative and clean energy

To ensure that industries are not slowed down in the face of environmental concerns, renewable energy has now become essential to continued growth. Solar and wind energy have become some of the most important sources of energy during this energy transition. Currently, under ** percent of South Korea's domestic power generation comes from solar, geothermal, and similar sources.
