Most of the production of natural gas in Egypt took place in the Mediterranenan Sea area. As of December 2019, ** percent of the production took place there. The Nile Delta ranked second, followed by the Western Desert, accounting for ** percent and ** percent, respectively. The Gulf of Suez came in last with a contributing share of *** percent.
