Dengue transmission has a seasonal and cyclic component, with certain months accounting for a larger number of cases and larger outbreaks in the region usually taking place every three to five years.Â
From January to June 2024, the number of deaths due to dengue in Peru amounted to ** cases. The highest number of cases recorded during the period analyzed were reported in 2023 and 2024, during a regional outbreak. As of 2022, only **** percent of individuals with dengue in Peru reported having severe complications, while the vast majority presented no concerning symptoms.
