The number of deaths due to dengue fever in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to over 8,400 in 2024, the highest in the recorded period and more than triple the occurrences reported a year before. From January to June 2025, the number of reported deaths from the disease in the region was already higher than the total recorded in 2022. Brazil registered the most dengue cases in Latin America and the Caribbean.
