According to a survey conducted in 2024, harassment towards staff is not uncommon among different NHS Trusts in England. That year, around ** percent of surveyed NHS staff had experienced some kind of harassment, bullying, or abuse at work from a patient/service user, their relatives, or other members of the public. Instances of abuse were especially high in ambulance trusts. Nearly half of surveyed NHS staff within Ambulance Trusts stated to have experienced harassment, bullying, or abuse at work, in the past year.
