In Sweden, BankID was most common among representatives of the age group between 31cand 40 years, as of 2020. BankID is an electronic identification solution for proof of identity of citizens for services, such as online payment. Nearly ** percent of the population in this age group used BankID and were closely followed by the respondents of ages between 21 and 30 years. It was least popular among the Swedes of ages of 81 years or older. Nevertheless, over one third of them used this identification method. Regarding BankID account types, the mobile one was most common in Sweden for the evaluated period.

 Service types and sectors  

      The majority of BankID use occasions were in the private sector. In fact, **** percent of the use occurrences were within the private sector, while *** percent were in the public sector. The internet and mobile banking services composed nearly ** percent of BankID usage in Sweden in 2020. The second sector within which BankID was commonly used, was the payment services sector, accounting for roughly ** percent of the usage.

      Digital payment has grown popular over the last years. However, card payment was still the most common payment method among online shoppers in Sweden in 2019. Online banking was reported to be used by ** percent of the respondents to a survey conducted in 2019.
