Between 2010 and 2019, the share of smokers in Italy decreased considerably. In 2010, this figure was equal to 22.8 percent, while in 2019, the share of smokers in the Italian population over 14 years of age was 18.4 percent. Despite this decrease, this figure in Italy grew again, and in 2024 reached almost 20 percent.Â
