That same year, the value of coffee imports reached over *** million U.S. dollars. Among the leading countries of origin for coffee imports to the country were Brazil, Peru and Vietnam.
Colombia is one of the largest coffee producers in the world and the second-largest in Latin America. However, despite its large production, it exports over ** percent of all its domestic coffee, which is why it relies on coffee imports to cover national demand. In 2023, it exported over ten million 60-kg bags of coffee.
