The source adds the following information. "This is the fourth annual industry study, which includes data collected from 77 alternative finance platforms, as well as over 8,300 retail investors within the UK. This research was conducted over the course of six months and included three phases of research. The survey collected aggregate-level industrial data used to measure the size and growth of the industry, as well as other key metrics. Though the data collected in the Industry Tracking Survey is based upon self-reported data, the survey responses
were thoroughly sanitized and verified before being aggregated for analysis. During analysis, all average data points (e.g. platform acceptance rates, funding success rates or most funded sectors) where weighted (by transaction volume) to
calculate more accurate estimates based on the available data. This benchmark was conducted with the support of the Peer-toPeer Finance Association (P2PFA) and the UK Crowdfunding Association (UKCFA) and included responses from 77
platforms, capturing an estimated 95% of the visible UK online alternative finance market.
