Black Pete is the fictional aid of Sinterklaas, a local variation of Santa Claus in the Netherlands and Belgium. Due to his traditional black appearance, it has been publicly discussed in those countries whether Black Pete should change its look. As of 2017, ** percent of respondents agreed that if a minority feels discriminated, it should be seriously considered to adapt Black Pete. This had increased to ** percent in 2018.
