The share of adults who claimed to have been diagnosed with arterial hypertension by a doctor in Brazil amounted to approximately ** percent in 2023, the highest value reported during the analyzed period. This represents an increase compared to 2012, when the percentage of Brazilian respondents diagnosed with high blood pressure reached around **** percent. Moreover, hypertension was more prevalent among women than men in the South American country.
