The survey was carried out in 18 countries of the region (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela). In each of the countries the number of respondents amounted to between 1,000 and 1,200. The samples were representative for the population of each of the countries.
As of August 2018, approximately **** percent of Latin American respondents aged 15 to 25 stated to use Facebook, making this the age group in which the social network proved to be the most popular.
Meanwhile, according to the same survey, the proportion of men using Facebook in the region that year was higher than the one for women.
