It was ahead of brands as Thomas Henry Ginger Beer and Oddbird Blanc de Blancs. Vinmonopolet is the government-owned alcoholic beverage retailer in Norway, selling non-alcoholic drinks as well. From 2010 to 2020, its sales volume of soft drinks increased steadily, peaking at *** thousand liters by the end of this period.

 Leading soft drink brands in Systembolaget stores 

In Norway’s neighboring country Sweden, Systembolaget is the government-owned chain of liquor stores. Measured by sales volume in these stores, the leading non-alcoholic beverage brand was Nosecco. As of 2019, sales amounted to *** thousand liters, and other popular non-alcoholic beverage brands include Jus de Pommes Artisanal Pétillant, Richard Juhlin Blanc de Blanc Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Wine and Carlsberg Alcohol free.  

 Norway’s international trade with non-alcoholic beverages

Over the years from 2009 to 2022, Norway imported a continuously increasing value of non-alcoholic beverages into the country. According to figures for 2022, it peaked at approximately *** billion Norwegian kroner. By comparison, its export value fluctuated strongly in the same period, amounting to *** million Norwegian kroner in 2022.
