In 2024, sales of soft drinks in Norway remained mainly stable compared to the previous years at around *** million liters. After declining from the decade high in 2022, sales growth has leveled off. In 2024, most soft drinks sold in the country contained sweetener, ahead of the volume of soft drinks with sugar and soft drinks with fruit juice. 

Sales channels

In 2023, the sales volume of soft drinks was by far highest in Norwegian grocery stores and private outlets, reaching approximately *** million liters. The volume was lowest in kiosks and gas stations, as it amounted to around ** million liters.

Consumption per Norwegian 

The per capita consumption volume of soft drinks decreased constantly from 2008 to 2018. By the end of this period, **** liters of soft drinks were consumed per person in Norway. By comparison, for bottled water, it was a per capita volume of **** liters, while it was *** liters for the consumption of energy drinks.
