Which age group streams or downloads video content the most in Denmark? According to a survey from 2018, younger people used this medium more often than older ones. ** percent of ** to 25-year-olds, as well as of ** to 35-year-olds stated to have streamed or downloaded TV content, series and movies on a weekly basis. By contrast, only ** percent of respondents aged 56 years and older answered to do so.

Traditional TV vs. streaming services

Viewing traditional television is still more popular in Denmark than streaming videos. A survey from the first half of 2018 found that over ** percent of Danish respondents watched TV hours and more. In comparison, only *** percent of individuals interviewed stated to stream movies, series, and video clips this frequency. Even more than a third of people did not use these online services, while just ** percent did not watch traditional TV.

Netflix is the most popular SVoD service in Denmark

Netflix is by far the most popular subscription video on demand service (SVoD) in Denmark. As of December 2017, roughly *** thousand people from the country subscribed to this streaming service. TV2 Play and ViaPlay had the second and third highest amount of subscriptions. The latter are streaming services that provide television content online.
