Business performance of easyJet

The business model of low-cost carriers (LCCs) requires them to maximize capacity and minimize costs. To do so, easyJet tried to maximize its passenger load factor such that the company’s performance remains economically viable. The company managed to increase its seat occupancy levels up to **** percent in 2018. EasyJet was not able to sustain the high level of seat occupancy during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, the load factor dropped to **** percent but began recovering in 2022 and reached **** percent in 2023 and 2024.
