To achieve net zero by 2050, the aviation industry must implement a series of strategies. Shifting to the use of sustainable aviation fuels (SAFs) will contribute to ** percent of the emissions reduction. The second most significant strategy will be offsetting and capturing carbon, accounting for ** percent of the decline in emissions needed to reach net zero. New technologies such as electric aircraft or hydrogen propulsion engines will also reduce emissions, but not as greatly as SAFs and carbon offset strategies.
