Tesla Motors scored another high with their Model S vehicle in 2017, when the model became the third most expensive used car sold in the country with ** thousand euros. Despite this milestone, the car manufacturer experienced fluctuations in the sales figures of new cars, selling roughly ** vehicles less in 2018 than in the previous year. Nevertheless, Tesla Motors clearly remained as the leading brand of electric passenger cars in the country when ranked by the number of cars in traffic.

The number of electric passenger car registrations showed a clear increasing trend in recent years in Finland, as did petrol and natural gas –fueled cars, as well as hybrids. The same cannot be said about the overall new registrations of passenger cars, which experienced ups and downs in the last ten years.
