According to the source, this data represents standard cubic meters (measured at 15°C and 1,013 mbar) where possible. Since the figures were derived directly from tons of oil equivalent using an average conversion factor, it does not necessarily equate with gas volumes expressed in specific national terms.

Domestic production decline
Natural gas production has seen an overall decline since 2010, when output stood at a peak of **** billion cubic meters. By 2024, the production of natural gas in the Netherlands was just **** percent of that produced in 2010. The Netherlands is the fifth-largest natural gas producer in Europe, not including Russia.Â
Oil and gas well decommissioning activity to pick up
The Netherlands is expected to dismantle more than *** oil and gas wells located in the North Sea between 2024 and 2029. Other countries set to see greater offshore decommissioning activity are the United Kingdom and Norway.
