European situation
Between 2008 and 2015, the number of new HIV cases among men increased in Europe before starting a continuous decrease from 2016. A very similar trend can be observed among women. When broken down by age groups, the highest number of HIV cases in 2023, was found among people aged between 30 and 39 years.
