In 2018, cyberattacks affected a higher number of Italian companies than the previous years. In 2016, only ** percent of firms experienced more than *** attacks, while the same amount reached over ** percent only two years later.
A cyberattack is the deliberate exploitation of computer systems, technology-dependent enterprises and networks. Cyberattacks use malicious code to alter computer code, logic or data, resulting in disruptive consequences that can compromise data and lead to cybercrimes, such as information and identity theft.
During the survey period it was found that over * percent of respondents had experienced more than *** cyberattacks.
